Our Leadership
Biography
Alvick Ward, a native of New Haven, CT, is the Senior Pastor of Refiner’s House Christian Church Charlotte. On February 11, 2001, Alvick entered Kingdom Love Center Deliverance Ministries in Hamden, CT, gave his life to Christ, and walked away a new creature in Christ Jesus. On that day, he realized how vital it was to enter the Kingdom of God and he surrendered everything to God. He took his walk with God seriously and embarked on a journey that will yield great fruits in the years to come.
While at Kingdom Love Center, Alvick would meet and marry the Love of his life, Terrisha McLean, and the two become one on April 3, 2004. To this union, three amazing children, Trevor, Alyssa, and Taylor—and
Under the leadership of Bishop Frankie and the Late Pastor Kim Carmichael, Alvick has faithfully served in many capacities: Prison Ministry, Outreach Ministry, and Men’s Ministry Team Leader. One of Alvick’s greatest joys in ministry was the establishment of Community Prayer at a local Police Substation. There, he led a team of committed servants to go into the community bi-weekly, and pray for healing and deliverance, salvation, crime reduction, substance abuse recovery, an end to homelessness, and other pertinent prayer requests that the Holy Spirit placed upon them for the targeted neighborhood. That precious time in the field fueled his passion for the souls of men and women to be saved. Seeing souls saved, healed, delivered, and set free is still an area of ministry that is dear to his heart.
In 2009, Alvick was instructed by God to attend Liberty University to prepare for another level of pastoral ministry. He obeyed God, as he and his wife Terrisha remained in a place of fasting and prayer for the launch of Refiner’s House Christian Church, in the Charlotte area years later. Upon the completion of his studies, he took heed to God’s instructions and in October 2015, he relocated with his wife and two daughters from Connecticut to Charlotte, NC. It was a faith move fully led by the Holy Spirit and Alvick and his family have witnessed many miracles and blessings since then.
With God’s blessing and His grace, Refiner’s House Christian Church held its first church service to the public on October 22, 2017. The Holy Spirit has been strategically using Refiner’s House Christian Church to be a beacon of light in Charlotte and surrounding areas.
In 2019, God divinely introduced Alvick to Apostle G. Marie Carroll, the Overseer and Chief Prelate of Kingdom Builders International Movement for Christ global network and churches. Through this God-appointed encounter, Jesus identified Alvick as an Apostle of the LORD’S Church through Apostle G. Marie Carroll. In 2020, Alvick fully embraced the call to the Office of the Apostle and has remained faithful in serving and learning under the tutelage of Apostle G. Marie Carroll.
Alvick is honored and privileged to stand as God’s Anointed mouthpiece and vessel who leads with passion and of the utmost integrity by God’s grace. A loving husband and father, Alvick is committed to humbly teach sound biblical doctrine, boldly proclaiming God’s Truth with boldness and without apology. He believes that the Church has the great responsibility of conveying the Gospel of the Kingdom of God without compromise and call people to salvation, repentance, and holiness like never before according to John 3:16 and Matthew 28:19-20. Evangelism, discipleship, church planting, salvation and deliverance, accountability, integrity, and love for one another must be an integral part of the fabric of God’s Church and should be top priorities of every Christian leader called to lead ministry teams and shepherd the flock.
God is glorified when the Body of Christ walks faithfully in fellowship with God and one another with integrity of heart, genuine love, exhibiting strength, courage and honor, valor and virtue, credibility, and unquestionable character. These are essential to every Christian disciple to live by example in their homes, community, and in the marketplace through the strength that Jesus empowers each one with (Philippians 4:13). Outside of serving the church, Alvick enjoys quality time with his family, attending sport events, reading, traveling, and listening to smooth jazz. He endeavors to continue to serve God and His Church, as well as leading with his wife and their two daughters in the Charlotte area, making disciples and training up leaders apostolically.
